Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect and receive patient specimens with care and accuracy to ensure reliable results
• Perform chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic, and other diagnostic laboratory tests
• Operate and maintain manual and automated laboratory instrumentation to keep workflow efficient
• Document results, maintain accurate records, and follow laboratory quality assurance procedures
• Collaborate with clinicians and laboratory colleagues to support timely patient care
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards at all times
• Use Meditech and other lab information systems to enter and retrieve patient and test data

Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT registration required (Medical Technician/MLT or Medical Technologist/MLS as applicable)
• For MLT: Associate degree plus current ASCP or AMT Medical Technician registration
• For MLS: Bachelor's degree plus current ASCP or AMT Medical Technology/Scientist registration
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Medical Lab Scientist (Technologist) or Medical Lab Technician
• Hands-on microbiology experience is required
• Meditech experience required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) and ability to provide proof

Education

• Associate degree for Medical Lab Technician (MLT) role
• Bachelor's degree for Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) role

Knowledge & Skills

• Specimen collection and proper handling techniques
• Microbiology and bacteriology testing methods
• Chemical testing and microscopy
• Operation and troubleshooting of manual and automated laboratory equipment
• Proficiency with Meditech laboratory information system
• Understanding of laboratory instrumentation, quality control, and safety practices
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and documentation best practices
