Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients regain independence
- Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions focused on ADLs and functional mobility
- Document patient care and progress accurately and in a timely manner to support quality outcomes
- Educate patients and caregivers on safety, adaptive techniques, and therapeutic exercises for everyday life
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant treatment areas to ensure a safe therapeutic environment
- Follow facility policies, procedures, and state regulations to maintain professional standards
Qualifications
- Active California COTA license (required)
- SNF or rehabilitation experience preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Availability to commit to the full 13-week contract assignment
Education
- Completion of an accredited COTA program (as required for COTA licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with treatment plans and implementing therapeutic interventions
- Knowledge of ADLs, functional mobility, and adaptive techniques
- Effective patient and caregiver education skills
- Strong documentation practices and attention to regulatory compliance
- Collaborative team player with good interpersonal and communication abilities
