Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments and assist patients in achieving functional goals
• Deliver therapeutic exercise, gait training, and mobility interventions with professionalism
• Document treatment plans and patient progress clearly and timely in the facility EMR
• Collaborate with PTs, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on safety, home programs, and activity progression
• Assist with transfers, ADLs, and safe use of adaptive equipment while prioritizing patient dignity
• Adhere to infection control standards and facility policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey or eligible to obtain state licensure
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• BLS/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Prior clinical experience in outpatient, inpatient rehab, or skilled nursing preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work a day schedule that includes weekends as required by the facility

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)
• Bachelor's degree in a related health field (preferred but not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance and mobility interventions
• Familiarity with common modalities and assistive devices
• Competent clinical documentation and goal-setting in electronic medical records
• Excellent patient education and motivational coaching abilities
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced setting
• Professional bedside manner and commitment to patient-centered care
