Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the direction of an OT to help patients regain independence
• Implement treatment plans and therapeutic activities that address ADLs, mobility, and functional goals
• Document patient progress timely and accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and caregivers to ensure coordinated, person-centered care
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, home programs, and equipment use
• Monitor and maintain therapy equipment and supplies to ensure safety and readiness

Qualifications

• Current COTA certification (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) required
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care
• Able to follow treatment plans, document thoroughly, and work well in a team
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment
• Willingness to complete any facility-specific orientation and required trainings

Education

• Associate degree or accredited OTA program completion preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of occupational therapy techniques for ADLs, transfers, and adaptive equipment
• Proficient in clinical documentation and outcome tracking
• Skilled in patient safety, positioning, and fall prevention strategies
• Ability to adapt activities to varied cognitive and physical levels
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
