Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and companionship to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention measures during your shift
• Document care accurately and timely to maintain clear communication
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support resident plans of care
• Maintain a clean, respectful, and dignified environment for residents

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Valid state-required immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Comfort working night shifts and supporting geriatric populations
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification or state-equivalent nursing assistant credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident dignity
• Proficiency with assisting in ADLs and safe patient handling
• Basic vital sign measurement and recognition of changes in condition
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and attention to detail
• Infection control and standard precautions knowledge
