Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care during overnight shifts with attention to detail
- Assess, monitor and document patient status, communicating changes promptly to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and maintain individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families in a compassionate, clear manner to support recovery and discharge
- Prioritize patient safety and infection control while maintaining a calm, professional presence
- Contribute to a positive unit culture by supporting colleagues and participating in handoffs
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing (RN preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable and experienced working overnight shifts and managing acute patient needs
- Strong clinical judgment, reliable documentation habits, and effective communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, LPN diploma or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and critical thinking for timely interventions
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Infection control principles and adherence to facility protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Time management and prioritization during overnight clinical workflows
