Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Measure and document vital signs and observe changes in resident condition
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate care updates to the team
- Promote a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
- Engage residents in social and therapeutic activities to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Comfortable working in long-term care or skilled nursing settings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification or equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered approaches
- Skill in assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling techniques
- Familiarity with infection prevention and basic safety protocols
- Ability to observe, record, and report changes in resident condition
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
- Basic documentation and charting skills
