Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote independence and prevent falls
- Accurately document care given and observations in resident charts
- Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe living environment for residents
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to deliver person-centered care
- Participate in team huddles and training to continuously improve resident care
Qualifications
- Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Prior experience caring for older adults is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification or equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and elder care best practices
- Basic understanding of infection control and safe handling procedures
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Comfortable with documentation and charting in a clinical setting
- Strong time management and teamwork skills
