Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs and plan individualized care
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Maintain complete, accurate medical records and meet Core Measure responsibilities
• Provide clear explanations and education to patients and families to support recovery
• Contribute to a healthy workplace by managing conflict professionally and communicating effectively
• Participate in continuing education to keep skills sharp and current

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Unit-specific certifications a plus: NRP, PALS, OCN, or other specialty credentials
• Comfort with patient assessment, care planning, clinical judgment, and medical documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate professionally

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
• Excellent clinical judgment and ability to recognize changes in condition
• Thorough medical record documentation practices
• Experience or familiarity with cardiac, ICU, progressive care, and perioperative environments
• Skilled at patient/family education and delivering compassionate care
• Effective conflict management and professional communication abilities
