Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (day) and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (night); primarily night coverage with every-other-weekend requirement (nights: Friday & Saturday; days: Saturday & Sunday when on day shift); self-scheduling on 6-week cycles, 36 guaranteed hours per week

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to PCU and ICU patients, managing complex diagnoses with confidence
- Operate and manage ventilators and all ICU-level infusion drips while monitoring patient responses closely
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication across the team
- Float between St. Joseph Medical Center and regional facilities as needed, delivering consistent care across units
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and other team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to established ICU/PCU nurse-to-patient ratios and ensure safe staffing practices
- Participate in orientation and unit-based training, mentoring less experienced staff and supporting a positive team culture
- Respond to emergencies and use ACLS protocols when required to stabilize critically ill patients
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Washington or eligible to obtain WA licensure
- Minimum 2 years of experience in critical care, ICU, or PCU (travelers required to have 2 years in specialty)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Comfortable with ventilator management and ICU-level drips; PCU drips include cardizem, nitro, insulin, heparin
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
- Willingness to float between units and facilities in Region Two
- IABP or CRRT experience is a plus but not required
Education
- Active RN (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making
- Ventilator management and respiratory support knowledge
- Proficient with infusion/IV drip titration and pump safety
- Familiarity with telemetry and patient monitoring systems
- Solid med-surg foundational skills for flexible floor coverage
- Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and patients' families
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize in high-acuity settings
- Comfortable with EPIC electronic medical record
