Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising OT
• Implement treatment plans and therapeutic activities to help patients regain independence
• Document patient progress, responses to treatment, and plan updates accurately and timely
• Collaborate with OTs, PTs, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, home programs, and safety strategies
• Maintain and sanitize therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive, person-centered care culture

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
• California licensure/registration for OT assistants or eligibility to obtain prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfort working with diverse patient populations across all ages and levels of function
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a rehab team
• Previous experience in inpatient rehab or acute care is a plus

Education

• Associate degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques for ADL, cognition, upper-extremity function, and adaptive equipment
• Skilled in patient positioning, therapeutic exercise, and functional task training
• Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with clinical charting best practices
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time efficiently
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education and team collaboration
