Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs are met
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care plans
• Ensure a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents at all times

Qualifications

• Active GNA or equivalent geriatric nursing assistant certification
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and safe patient handling techniques
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and elder care best practices
• Basic vital sign measurement and charting skills
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and care teams
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
