Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered occupational therapy interventions under the direction of the OTR to help clients regain daily living skills
- Implement individualized treatment plans and document progress clearly and timely
- Use adaptive equipment and therapeutic techniques to maximize patient independence and safety
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to coordinate care and support discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies to continue progress after discharge
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture by sharing observations and participating in care meetings
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Ability to start the 14-week assignment beginning 2026-03-16 and complete through 2026-06-15
- Current, unrestricted license or certification as required by state regulations to practice as a COTA
- Comfortable working in a rehab-focused setting (Powerback - Contract) and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong documentation skills and ability to manage caseloads Monday through Friday
Education
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic techniques to support activities of daily living and functional mobility
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and activity modification strategies
- Strong clinical documentation and charting skills
- Clear verbal and written communication with patients, families, and team members
- Time management and organizational skills to manage a consistent weekday caseload
