Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, and functional abilities to create meaningful baselines
- Develop and implement personalized occupational therapy treatment plans that promote independence
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to ensure the best outcomes
- Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and home exercise programs for lasting gains
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Michigan or eligibility to obtain one
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Previous outpatient or clinical experience preferred
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to maintain thorough documentation and work well within a care team
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in patient assessment and developing individualized care plans
- Hands-on knowledge of therapeutic techniques for ADLs and functional mobility
- Skilled at documenting clinical progress and following healthcare regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient and family education
- Comfortable collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
