Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perinatal and labor & delivery nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns
• Perform continuous fetal heart monitoring, interpret tracings, and escalate concerns promptly
• Deliver neonatal resuscitation and initial stabilization using NRP and STABLE protocols when needed
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, and neonatal teams for safe deliveries
• Assess maternal and fetal status, intervene appropriately, and document care clearly in the chart
• Educate and support families through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care with compassion
• Participate in unit safety initiatives and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a perinatal RN required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required (may be obtained upon hire)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider required
• AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) - Intermediate required
• STABLE program - Learner required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Experienced in labor support, maternal assessments, and intrapartum interventions
• Proficient in neonatal resuscitation and early stabilization techniques
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
• Excellent communication and family-centered teaching abilities
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-acuity perinatal situations
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across disciplines
