Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, ensuring dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to ensure a safe environment
• Participate in training and team huddles to continuously improve care quality

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification required
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is preferred
• Basic awareness of resident rights and person-centered care practices
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements as applicable
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and personal care
• Basic competency in taking and recording vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control principles and safe body mechanics
• Good observation and reporting skills to communicate changes in resident condition
• Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for working with older adults
• Time management and organizational skills to manage assigned duties efficiently
