Shift Type: Monday-Friday, Day shift 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; plus scheduled call coverage in a 6-week cycle: weekday on-call 10:30 PM - 6:00 AM, and rotating weekend calls every other weekend (one 12-hour weekend shift per call: either 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM day shift or 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM night shift). Rotating day/night with on-call responsibilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide focused 1:1 nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in the interventional radiology setting
• Prepare patients and assist during complex procedures such as angiography, nephrostomy, and graft interventions
• Monitor and manage procedural sedation and emergency medications with vigilance and confidence
• Assess and interpret dysrhythmias, intervene appropriately, and escalate care when needed
• Start and maintain IV access, manage central venous access/ports, and support nephrostomy and dialysis graft procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — radiology, pharmacy, respiratory, PT, and rapid response — to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Document thoroughly in Epic to maintain continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) required — pending licenses are not accepted
• ACLS and BLS certifications required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience (interventional radiology or acute care preferred)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and rotating weekend coverage
• Must include Return-to-Office (RTO) information at time of submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Interventional Radiology procedures: angiography, stent/stent graft placement, SVC/IVC venography
• Procedural skills: gastrostomy tube placement, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tube care, lung biopsy support
• Vascular access: central venous access/port placement, dialysis graft creation/revision and interventions
• Medication management: sedation administration/monitoring, antihypertensives, thrombolytics, emergency meds
• Clinical judgment: dysrhythmia interpretation, pressure ulcer assessment, sheath removal monitoring
• Radiation and laser safety principles
• Strong teamwork and communication across departments
