Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Document care clearly and promptly in resident charts to keep the care team aligned
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful activities

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state-approved equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain) to ensure resident safety
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA/CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of geriatric care and comfort measures
• Basic nursing assistant skills: bathing, feeding, toileting, transfers
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Infection control practices and safe handling of equipment
• Clear documentation and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
