Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to residents during overnight hours, focusing on safety and comfort
- Perform thorough assessments and document changes in condition clearly and promptly
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and ensuring resident understanding
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and transitions
- Respond to emergencies and urgent needs calmly and efficiently to ensure positive outcomes
- Mentor and support CNAs and other team members during the night shift to maintain strong teamwork
Qualifications
- Active RN or LPN license eligible for practice in New Mexico (RN preferred for this posting)
- Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care settings preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS or other certifications a plus
- Comfort with night-shift responsibilities and independent decision-making
- Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused approach to resident care
Education
- LPN: Vocational diploma or certificate in Practical Nursing
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Medication administration and documentation accuracy
- Skilled in wound care, IV therapy basics, and common skilled nursing procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely charting
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with residents, families, and staff
