Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise imaging staff by directly overseeing Lead and Senior Technologists and supporting the broader technical team.
• Manage daily staffing and productivity to meet budgetary and operational targets.
• Drive quality assurance and image quality control to ensure excellent patient imaging outcomes.
• Implement and support department performance improvement projects and regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, ACR).
• Perform and/or assist with diagnostic imaging procedures and provide patient, family, student, and staff education as needed.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, and care teams to resolve issues and promote patient-centered care.
• Support hiring, staff development, progressive discipline, and performance evaluations in partnership with leadership.
• Monitor departmental resources, recommend allocations, and coordinate with other hospital departments to facilitate imaging services.

Qualifications

• Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the State of California OR current ARRT license.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Minimum five years as a working Diagnostic Technologist in an acute-care setting.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in an acute-care setting; desired three to five years of prior managerial experience.
• Desired: certification in a specialized area from a recognized certifying agency (NMTBC, MRI, etc.).
• Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to motivate and manage staff effectively.

Education

• Associate Degree (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of human anatomy, radiographic positioning, and principles of radiographic exposure.
• Experience with radiation safety, radiation physics, radiobiology, and quality assurance processes.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards, Title 17 & 22, ACR survey/compliance, and performance improvement practices.
• Strong supervisory skills including staff development, delegation, and performance management.
• Ability to analyze departmental operations, manage resources, and recommend process improvements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with clerical, nursing, service engineers, physicians, patients, and families.
