Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead on-shift operations as the Nurse Manager to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
• Provide clinical mentoring and on-the-floor support to nursing staff
• Perform patient rounding to identify and address service or safety concerns promptly
• Serve as a resource for clinical and interpersonal issues, supporting a positive work environment
• Step into charge nurse assignments as needed, managing staffing and patient flow
• Promote team collaboration and staff development through coaching and feedback
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of acute and telemetry care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required)
• ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications (AHA or APEX accepted)
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience (acute/telemetry experience preferred)
• Must have served as a charge RN in most recent assignment — no first-time travelers
• Comfortable with Cerner charting system
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
• Willingness to complete the 3-week orientation (1 week classroom, 2 weeks unit orientation)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN preferred (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry nursing and acute care expertise
• On-shift leadership and charge nurse responsibilities
• Clinical mentoring and staff support techniques
• Patient rounding and safety surveillance
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to manage census fluctuations and staffing assignments
