Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for the Occupational Therapy department, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to professional standards
• Lead and coordinate clinical education and competency processes for OT staff, including direct supervision of COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians
• Evaluate and treat patients (approximately 80% clinical time) using evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches
• Develop, review, and maintain OT policies and procedures addressing scope of care, evaluation/treatment standards, discharge planning, and documentation
• Ensure regulatory compliance with state practice acts, board requirements, and department standards
• Support program development and perform administrative tasks (approximately 20% of time) to enhance service delivery and department performance
• Conduct competency assessments and performance oversight to promote clinical excellence and staff development

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) — required
• Current California Occupational Therapy license issued by the appropriate state board — required
• Possess additional qualifications as recommended by the California Therapy Board and the Rehabilitation Services Department — required
• Experience supervising COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians, and providing clinical education/competency oversight
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with regulatory compliance and policy/procedure development
• AOTA membership — preferred

Education

• Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
