Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients on the MedSurg observation unit, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Perform thorough documentation in the patient record to support continuity of care
• Provide patient and family education to promote understanding and recovery
• Support unit flow by facilitating admissions, discharges, and transfers with professionalism
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (MedSurg/OBS preferred)
• Comfort and ability to work 12-hour night shifts
• Ability to adapt quickly to a new facility and integrate into the care team

Education

• Diploma, ADN, or BSN in Nursing (BSN preferred when available)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg clinical assessment and intervention skills
• Excellent medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Proficient charting and use of electronic health records
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Critical thinking and prioritization for multiple patients
