Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and patient assessment in ICU and high-acuity settings
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation, including Drager and Phillips V60 ventilators
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide respiratory interventions
• Deliver bronchodilator therapy, high-flow O2 therapy, airway clearance, and trach care
• Assist with intubations and provide rapid response during code blue events
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement patient-focused care plans
• Transport patients safely and maintain continuity of respiratory care during transitions

Qualifications

• Current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or high-acuity respiratory experience preferred
• Comfortable with mechanical ventilators and high-flow devices (Drager, Phillips V60, Vapotherm, Metaneb)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to act decisively in emergencies
• Valid state licensure and ability to complete travel assignment credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and weaning strategies
• ABG collection and interpretation
• Airway management, trach care, and intubation assistance
• Bronchodilator therapy and high-flow oxygen systems
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Code blue response and advanced resuscitation protocols
• Patient transport procedures and safe handling
• Critical thinking, strong communication, and teamwork in ICU environments
