Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medications accurately and efficiently to protect patient safety
• Perform dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants with clinical judgment
• Provide pain consults and collaborate with care teams to optimize pain management
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, including sterile compounding workflows and quality checks
• Oversee sterile IV compounding using Dose Edge for verification
• Manage Pyxis and Pak Edge tasks including checking first doses and emergency med boxes
• Document and communicate interventions in the Meditech EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Support inpatient pharmacy operations across the hospital to maintain timely medication delivery

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (required)
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience (as indicated in the order)
• ACLS and BLS preferred
• NICU experience is a plus
• Experience supervising technicians and performing sterile compounding
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge, and Meditech preferred

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication verification and clinical review
• Vancomycin, aminoglycoside, and anticoagulant dosing protocols
• Sterile compounding best practices and aseptic technique
• Pharmacy automation systems: Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge
• Meditech EMR documentation and order verification
• Strong communication and team leadership when supervising technicians
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced inpatient environment
