Roles & Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care to outpatient cardiology patients following established standards and best practices
Assist providers and clinic staff in coordinating patient care and follow-up to ensure excellent outcomes
Serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff and providers to create clear communication and high-quality service
Perform and interpret basic EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms, escalating concerns to providers as needed
Administer cardiac medications and provide patient education about medications, procedures and follow-up care
Document patient care accurately and maintain clinical standards under the direction of providers and clinical managers

Qualifications

MT RN licensure (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
ACLS certification (required)
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
At least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience preferred
Comfortable with clinic operations: key boarding and basic office skills

Education

Graduate of nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of EKGs and cardiac arrhythmias
Knowledge of cardiac medications and related procedures
Familiarity with basic coronary class concepts
Solid grasp of medical terminology and basic nursing principles
Patient care coordination and excellent communication skills
