Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately to ensure patient safety
• Perform vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing and adjustments
• Oversee sterile IV compounding and use Dose Edge for verification
• Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient operations
• Manage Pyxis and Pak Edge systems, including first-dose and emergency med box checks
• Conduct medication reconciliation and provide medication verification for clinical teams
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on pain consults and therapeutic recommendations
• Document clinical interventions and maintain EMR entries in Meditech

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Missouri (MO Pharmacist License required)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant pharmacy experience (as listed)
• Familiarity with Meditech, Dose Edge, Pyxis and Pak Edge
• Experience with inpatient pharmacy workflows, medication verification and sterile compounding
• ACLS / BLS (preferred)
• NICU experience (preferred)

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient pharmacy operations and decentralized pharmacy practice
• Medication verification processes and regulatory compliance
• Vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing protocols
• Sterile compounding (IV) procedures and Dose Edge verification
• Supervising technicians and managing medication distribution systems (Pyxis, Pak Edge)
• Clinical collaboration and pain consult interventions
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR for documentation and order entry
