Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and deliver individualized treatment plans across inpatient, outpatient, and rehab settings
• Treat and manage patients with ortho, post-surgical, neuro, trauma, cardiac, and med-surg diagnoses
• Perform and interpret bedside swallow studies and collaborate with Speech-Language Pathology on video swallowing studies when needed
• Document all care accurately and timely in Cerner PowerChart
• Collaborate with PT, SLP, rehab aides, OTAs and the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Float to assigned areas and step in where patient needs are greatest, helping maintain smooth unit operations
• Complete unit-specific orientation including Cerner training and maintain required certifications
• Adhere to facility policies including dress code and safety procedures

Qualifications

• NBCOT certification required (must have passed NBCOT exam)
• State occupational therapy license required or ability to obtain state licensure
• BLS certification required
• Minimum clinical experience expected (posting lists 2 years; notes indicate 1+ year may be considered with relevant inpatient clinical experience)
• Travel experience preferred; trauma experience preferred
• Experience with bedside swallow studies required; video swallowing studies preferred
• Comfortable floating between areas and adapting to varied unit needs

Education

• NBCOT certification required; state licensure expected
• Specific OT degree not listed in posting but standard entry-level Occupational Therapy degree (OT/OTD/MSOT) is typically required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner PowerChart electronic medical record
• Strong clinical skills in acute care and rehabilitation settings
• Experience treating ortho, neuro, trauma, post-surgical, and med-surg patients
• Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management
• Excellent documentation, time management, and multidisciplinary communication
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with rehab aides and support staff
