Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment to ensure safe, efficient cardiovascular and EP procedures.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-procedural patient assessments and monitoring, and communicate abnormal findings immediately.
• Circulate and assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, EP, structural heart and neuro-interventional procedures.
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation per policy and support airway and hemodynamic stability during cases.
• Document care, handoffs, and procedure details in real time using the MacLab/CardioLab system.
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including fluoroscopy and intra-cardiac ultrasound, and support 3D mapping systems in EP cases.
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment, participate in time-out/full-stop safety checks, and practice sterile technique consistently.
• Precept new staff, participate in ongoing professional development, and maintain required certifications.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma acceptable if BSN obtained within 36 months
• Experience required: ICU, CVICU, IMC or Cath Lab experience; prior Cardiovascular and EP lab RN experience strongly preferred
• New graduates and med/surg-only experience are not being considered at this time
• Ability to work varied hours, respond to on-call pager, and perform independent circulation during procedures

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (preferred)
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (acceptable if BSN completed within 36 months)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and pre-/post-procedural monitoring
• Cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
• Fluoroscopy proficiency and sterile technique
• MacLab/CardioLab real-time documentation
• Intra-cardiac ultrasound and 3D mapping system familiarity
• Hemodynamics, device implants (pacemaker/ICD) and structural heart procedure support
• Procedural sedation management and strong handoff communication
• Ability to precept and educate new staff
