Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services (EVS), Maintenance and Grounds to ensure safe, reliable facility operations
• Supervise approximately 45 FTEs both directly and indirectly, setting clear expectations and coaching for performance
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and ensure equipment and systems are serviced according to manufacturer recommendations
• Direct maintenance of utility systems (heat, steam, electric, gas, oxygen) to support continuous facility operation and patient care
• Inspect machines and equipment to ensure operational standards and regulatory compliance
• Ensure contractors comply with hospital policies and applicable regulatory agencies
• Serve as liaison to other departments to assess needs and develop actionable plans to meet facility requirements
• Maintain compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and local building and fire codes
• Develop training plans, customer-service expectations, and follow up on employee and customer concerns in a timely manner
• Apply engineering principles to detect, diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Thorough knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes and construction phasing
• Proven ability to apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Demonstrated leadership skills managing multi-discipline teams in a healthcare or large-facility environment
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area (required)

Education

• Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field)
