Shift Type: Rotating 8-hour shifts including Days, Evenings and Nights: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM (Day), 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM (Evening), 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Night). Rotating schedule includes weekend coverage; weekend call rotation varies by shift (e.g., 7a-3p: one weekend of call every 6 weeks; 3p-11p: every 4th weekend; nights: variable). Weekday call self-scheduled 4-8 times per 4-week schedule with a 30-minute call response expectation. Shift type: Rotating (includes evenings and nights).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in a busy 12-suite OR (plus CVOR and hybrid room)
• Prepare and assist for an average of ~14 cases per day across orthopedics, trauma, general surgery, robotics and more
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, techs and support teams to maintain 1:1 patient ratios and smooth room flow
• Participate in call coverage and respond within the expected 30-minute window when assigned
• Document accurately in Cerner (Surginet) and communicate patient status clearly during handoffs
• Support sterile technique and equipment needs; collaborate with sterile processing teams when required
• Work independently and confidently on night shifts when RN coverage is lean (one RN with one tech)
• Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols, and perioperative best practices to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license required (state licensure in good standing)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum experience: 2 years of nursing experience (as listed on posting)
• Preferred experience: 3-5 years of perioperative/OR nursing experience with trauma, orthopedics and general surgery
• Comfortable with Cerner (Surginet) charting and telemetry (GE SpaceLabs)
• Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes and work scheduled weekend rotations
• Experience with robotics (Da Vinci), CVOR exposure, or charge nurse experience is a plus
• Travel nursing experience is preferred but not required

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing best practices and sterile technique
• Operating Room workflows and instrumentation familiarity
• EMR proficiency: Cerner (Surginet)
• Trauma, orthopedic (total joints), general surgery, ENT and robotics exposure
• Ability to work autonomously on night shifts and lead patient care when staffing is lean
• Strong communication, teamwork, and call response readiness
• Familiarity with sterile processing concepts and common sterilization equipment (Steris, Sterrad, VP Plasma) is helpful
