Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing to PCU patients, prioritizing safety and comfort
• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in cardiac rhythm and patient status
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
• Manage quick-turnover patients and ensure smooth transitions for short-stay admissions
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans with compassion
• Float to other units as needed to support staffing and maintain excellent patient care

Qualifications

• 2+ years of RN experience (as stated in the job posting)
• Telemetry competency (required)
• Progressive Care (PCU) experience (required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Experience using Cerner EMR preferred
• Comfort with short-stay/quick-turnover patient populations and varying acuity levels

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Progressive care clinical judgment for step-down and medical-surgical patients
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR for documentation and orders
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage patient ratios typical for PCU (1:5, stretch to 1:6) and prioritize care
• Adaptability to float to other units and support varied clinical teams
