Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with ADLs like bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support safe mobility and transfers while respecting resident dignity
• Assist with meal service and feeding, attending to dietary needs
• Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Accurately document care and resident interactions in charts or electronic records
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and communicate effectively with families

Qualifications

• Current GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification (required)
• Meets Maryland state training/registration requirements
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric settings is a plus
• Reliable, compassionate, and strong interpersonal skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of ADLs and resident-centered care
• Basic vital signs and observation skills
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Accurate documentation and time management
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Strong teamwork and clear communication
