Shift Type: Rotating night shifts (includes weekends as needed), 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night); 36- or 48-hour guarantee depending on assignment; schedule varies with blackout dates—must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs and plan individualized care
- Apply the nursing process to provide complex psychiatric nursing care and ensure patient safety
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to mental health workers (MHWs) to maintain therapeutic standards
- Lead charge shifts when scheduled, coordinating care and resources across the unit
- Support medically assisted withdrawal and stabilization efforts for patients with co-occurring disorders
- Deliver group and individual interventions that promote recovery and long-term stability
- Float to other units as needed while maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Vermont or Compact) at time of submission
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience; inpatient psychiatric experience required within the last 3 months (LTC not accepted)
- American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
- Comfortable and experienced providing care in an LGBTQ-designated unit
- Willingness to float to other units and take charge shifts
- Psych/behavioral health experience and all age groups clearly listed on resume
- Two supervisory references from the last 2 years and a psych skills checklist from within the last year
- RTO cannot exceed 7 days; candidates must be able to start on 02/02/2026 (no exceptions)
Education
- Active RN license required; nursing degree (ADN or BSN) or equivalent education in nursing
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong psychiatric nursing and nursing process application
- Experience with co-occurring disorders treatment and behavioral health interventions
- Clinical supervision and staff mentorship skills
- Experience with medically assisted withdrawal and patient stabilization
- Group and individual therapeutic intervention skills
- Crisis prevention and de-escalation familiarity (CPI training available onsite)
- Ability to function as charge nurse and to float between units
