Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility while preserving dignity
- Take and record vital signs and communicate changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Document care accurately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
- Create warm, respectful interactions that brighten a resident’s day
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Authorized to work in New Mexico and able to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and adapting to per-diem schedules
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a resident-first mindset
- Ability to perform physical aspects of care (lifting, standing, assisting mobility)
Education
- Completion of an approved CNA program or equivalent training
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
- Vital sign measurement and documentation best practices
- Infection prevention and basic hygiene protocols
- Basic charting and ability to communicate observations clearly
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport quickly
