Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and guide hospital staff in applying policies and procedures to ensure safe, consistent care
- Coordinate patient flow and resource allocation across departments to optimize throughput
- Provide direction to charge nurses and clinical teams during the night shift
- Monitor staff productivity and deliver constructive coaching and feedback
- Make administrative and clinical decisions in collaboration with clinical leaders and the CNO
- Address patient and family concerns with empathy and timely resolution
- Organize workflows and delegate duties so teams know their priorities and responsibilities
- Initiate and develop special projects to improve operations and patient experience
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Montana (required)
- Minimum 3 years' RN hospital experience with recent ICU or critical care experience
- Current CPR certification required
- ACLS and PALS required or must obtain within 6 months of employment
- Demonstrated leadership experience such as resource nurse or charge responsibilities
- Experience with ventilator support, cardiac monitoring, A-lines, invasive lines and chest tubes
- Comfortable using multiple IV pumps and operating advanced medical equipment
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and people skills
Education
- Degree from a Nursing Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced nursing principles and post-operative patient care
- Patient flow management and resource nurse strategies
- Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
- Ventilator management and care for patients requiring invasive support
- Use and troubleshooting of IV pumps, A-lines and invasive lines
- Staff supervision, coaching, and performance feedback
- Problem solving under pressure and independent decision making
- Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams and leadership
