Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive echocardiogram studies including Transthoracic 2-D, M-Mode, Color-flow Doppler, and Transesophageal exams
• Conduct exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography with precision and patient safety in mind
• Perform EKGs, Holter prep, monitoring and analysis, and cardiac stress tests accurately and efficiently
• Operate and maintain diagnostic cardiac equipment to provide optimal imaging and data for cardiology teams
• Assess and use hospital information systems for scheduling, processing, and accurate study documentation and charging
• Implement infection control and aseptic techniques to ensure safe care environments
• Precept and provide clinical guidance to students from contracted colleges and universities
• Deliver age-specific care across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Successful completion of an echocardiography certification program and/or two years hands-on echocardiography experience
• Preferred: extensive hospital experience, especially in pediatric and neonatal echocardiography
• Comfortable working evenings and adapting to a variable schedule

Education

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Certificate Program in Cardiovascular Sonography (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, 2-D, M-Mode and color-flow Doppler
• Experience with stress echocardiography including exercise and pharmacological protocols
• Proficient in EKG acquisition and Holter monitoring/analysis
• Familiarity with cardiac stress testing procedures and cardiac diagnostic systems
• Knowledge of infection control, aseptic technique, and equipment disinfection
• Experience using hospital information systems for scheduling, processing, and charging
• Ability to provide age-specific patient care from neonatal to geriatric populations
• Clinical teaching and preceptorship experience
