Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary facilities team, directly and indirectly supervising ~45 FTEs
- Oversee Plant Operations, Environmental Services (EVS) and Grounds to ensure safe, reliable facility performance
- Set clear customer service expectations and build training plans that empower staff
- Direct maintenance of utilities (heat, steam, power, gas, oxygen) to support patient care
- Inspect, troubleshoot and ensure preventative maintenance on equipment and systems
- Ensure contractor compliance with regulatory and hospital policies during facility work
- Act as a cross-department liaison to assess needs and develop actionable plans
- Maintain regulatory compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and local building/fire codes
- Develop and implement construction phasing and life safety strategies for projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of personnel management experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
- Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes and construction phasing
- Proven ability to apply engineering principles to detect and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
- Willingness to relocate to a rural area
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred — Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field
