Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform CT and general diagnostic radiographic exams accurately, safely, and with compassion
- Operate CT and X-ray equipment and ensure high-quality imaging for diagnostic accuracy
- Prepare and administer contrast media and perform intravenous contrast injections when indicated
- Prepare patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications to support smooth workflows
- Follow and enforce radiation protection, quality assurance, and department policies
- Provide excellent patient care including positioning, monitoring, and clear communication
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold ARRT standards of ethics and facility core values
- Collaborate with radiology team members and physicians to deliver timely diagnostic services
Qualifications
- Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the State of California (CRT) required
- Approved CPR certification required
- ARRT certification and State fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within six months of hire (per facility policy)
- Preferred: Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification
- Preferred: Advanced CT certification
- Desired experience: two years in diagnostic x-ray and at least one year of CT experience
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient-care skills
Education
- Certificate in Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the State of California or equivalent certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Cross-sectional anatomy and CT imaging expertise
- Radiographic positioning and exposure principles
- Quality assurance and radiation protection practices
- Familiarity with CT equipment operation and contrast media administration
- Patient care, venipuncture, and safe IV contrast injection techniques
- Understanding of radiobiology, radiation physics, and specialized imaging protocols
- Excellent problem-solving and effective communication skills
