Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, schedule varies (may include nights and weekends)

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive post-operative and perioperative nursing care for orthopedic surgery patients
- Independently manage an assigned patient load (expected to independently care for up to 5 patients)
- Perform dressing changes and assist with aspiration and other unit procedures
- Monitor patient status, intervene promptly, and escalate concerns to the care team
- Document patient assessments and treatments accurately in Meditech EMR
- Coordinate pain management strategies and patient education for recovery
- Collaborate with surgeons, physical therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
- Contribute to a positive patient experience through compassionate, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (or compact/eligible as required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (per job posting)
- Experience working on a surgical unit is required
- Ability to independently manage up to 5 patients safely and confidently
- Orthopedic nursing experience and pain management experience are preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Orthopedic surgery patient care and perioperative/post-operative management
- Surgical unit workflows and protocols
- Pain management principles and medication administration
- Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical record system
- Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and time management skills
- Teamwork, clear communication, and a positive attitude in fast-paced environments
