Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the radiology program and ensure high-quality imaging services across the facility
- Track incoming radiology studies to ensure proper submission, reporting, and follow-up
- Provide PACS training and hands-on support to staff to keep workflows smooth
- Troubleshoot radiology transcription issues and coordinate timely resolutions
- Ensure radiology equipment is maintained, inspected and compliant with regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain radiology policies and procedures that promote safety and consistency
- Manage the radiation protection monitoring program to keep staff and patients safe
- Collaborate with clinic administrators and medical directors to drive continuous quality improvement
- Lead charge capture/chargemaster maintenance efforts with Finance to support accurate documentation
- Conduct staff supervision, competency assessments, and timely performance evaluations
- Perform radiologic exams within your scope and competency and mentor staff to do the same
- Prepare required reports and ensure all quality assurance/control activities are completed
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
- Registered Radiological Technologist (ARRT) — required
- Registered Mammographer — preferred
- Registered Ultrasound Technologist (RT/US) — preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in radiology management and supervision
- Minimum 5 years as a radiology technologist
- PACS training experience required; CT and MRI technologist experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, complete competencies, and build strong teams
Education
- Graduate from an accredited School of Radiology
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety and monitoring programs
- Familiarity with MQSA requirements and digitized imaging workflows
- Experience with PACS administration and training
- Skills in quality assurance/control and equipment maintenance oversight
- Comfort working in multiple computer systems and documenting medical information clearly
- Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Proven multi-tasking ability and experience resolving transcription or workflow issues
- Experience working with regulatory and accreditation standards for radiology services
