Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts scheduled within 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; rotating weekend coverage (day shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough occupational therapy evaluations and develop patient-centered treatment plans for inpatient rehab patients, with a focus on stroke recovery
- Deliver hands-on interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and neuromuscular re-education to restore function
- Implement functional activities, self-care training, and functional e-stim to support patient independence
- Safely use and instruct staff/patients on equipment such as Sara lifts, ceiling lifts, Bioness, and Diego
- Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately and efficiently in Meditech Expanse
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including PT, SLP, nursing, and physicians to coordinate high-quality care
- Communicate with patients and families using AIDET principles and provide education to support recovery and discharge planning
- Be ready to float to the acute hospital when rehab census requires flexible staffing
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (inpatient rehab and hospital experience preferred)
- Experience evaluating and treating stroke patients and related neuro-rehabilitation
- Proficiency with Meditech Expanse documentation preferred
- Comfortable and experienced with mechanical lift systems (Sara and ceiling lifts) and rehab devices such as Bioness and Diego
- Active Occupational Therapy license or ability to obtain licensure in Virginia (typical requirement for practice)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including use of AIDET for patient interactions
