Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for complex ICU patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Monitor and interpret advanced hemodynamic data, manage arterial and central lines, and respond to changes promptly
• Perform or assist with airway management and intubation procedures as indicated
• Deliver specialized care for neuro and oncology patients, including EVD care when required
• Document patient care accurately in the Meditech EMR and communicate clinical changes with the care team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient plans of care
• Support unit staffing needs by floating to other ICUs, BMT or PCU floors as necessary

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required (able to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience
• ACLS certification required; current BLS recommended
• Experience or comfort with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Prior exposure to neuro or oncology ICU patients preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and commit to rotating weekend coverage
• Team player with accountability, strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU-level patient assessment
• Management of central lines and arterial (A-line) monitoring
• Airway management and intubation support
• EVD placement care and monitoring
• Familiarity with standard ICU equipment and alarm management
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar electronic medical records
• Comfort working in a 2:1 patient ratio environment and prioritizing effectively
