Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care and keep the ED flowing
• Assess, monitor and document patient condition and response to treatment
• Collaborate closely with ED physicians and mid-level providers on care plans
• Provide direct emergency nursing care including IV therapy and advanced life support
• Operate and troubleshoot manual and electronic medical equipment safely
• Supervise and give direction to ED techs, registration staff and allied health team members
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
• Support a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care and strong teamwork

Qualifications

• Current MT State RN license required
• Degree from an accredited nursing program required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or obtainable within 6 months of hire
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
• Basic computer skills and comfort with electronic charting

Education

• Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing principles and triage practices
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• IV skills, medication administration and monitoring
• Familiarity with manual and electronic medical equipment operation
• Clear communication with interdisciplinary teams and patients' families
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize effectively
