Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the circulator and surgeon throughout perioperative procedures to ensure smooth, efficient care
• Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile operating room environment at all times
• Anticipate surgical team needs by setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to cases
• Monitor and uphold patient safety standards from pre-op through transfer to recovery
• Participate in on-call rotation including one weeknight call per week and weekend call every 5th weekend
• Comply with all applicable State and Federal healthcare laws, regulations, and facility policies

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist with hands-on OR experience and perioperative patient care
• Comfortable working day shift schedules with 8- or 10-hour options and participating in on-call rotations
• Demonstrated ability to maintain sterile technique and a safe operating room environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to support circulator and surgical staff
• Familiarity with State and Federal healthcare regulations and commitment to compliance
• Surgical Technologist credential or state-required certification where applicable; facility may have specific credentialing requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in sterile technique and instrument handling
• Perioperative patient care knowledge and OR workflow
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and set up case carts efficiently
• On-call readiness and ability to respond reliably for weeknight/weekend coverage
• Attention to detail for patient safety and regulatory compliance
