Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Deliver individual and group psychotherapy tailored to psychiatric populations
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop treatment plans
- Document clinical encounters clearly and promptly in the electronic health record
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning
- Offer crisis intervention and stabilization when needed, keeping patient safety first
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and compassionate care
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
- Active state psychologist license or ability to obtain licensure in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience working with psychiatric populations
- Experience conducting diagnostic assessments, risk assessments, and writing treatment plans
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) required/preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, etc.)
- Strong documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health records
- Ability to handle high-acuity and crisis situations with calm and clinical judgment
- Collaborative care approach and effective interdisciplinary communication
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse patient populations
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
