Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT and radiographic exams using prescribed techniques and protocols
- Position patients safely and compassionately; arrange immobilization and support devices when needed
- Prepare imaging rooms and equipment, including contrast material and supplies required for procedures
- Operate and adjust imaging equipment settings (voltage, current, time) to achieve diagnostic images
- Perform routine quality control tasks and maintain associated documentation
- Complete basic equipment maintenance and diagnostic testing to keep the department running
- Assist with general office duties such as scheduling, answering phones and patient intake when necessary
- Respond to on-call assignments and support the team during high-demand periods
- Practice radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients and staff
Qualifications
- Completion of formal radiologic technologist training from an AMA-approved program
- ARRT registration (required)
- CT certification (required) with at least 6 months of CT experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- MRI experience or certification is preferred but not required
- Willingness to relocate to a rural community and be an active part of the local healthcare team
Education
- Completion of formal radiologic technologist training in an AMA-approved program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiation protection and safety practices
- Proficient in patient positioning for CT and radiography
- Experience preparing and administering contrast materials
- Familiarity with imaging equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
- Comfort performing quality control tasks and maintaining QA documentation
- Good communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Organizational skills for scheduling, documentation and light office duties
