Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care for oncology and BMT ICU patients
- Manage ventilators, BIPAP, tracheostomy care and advanced airway needs with confidence
- Titrate drips and manage complex hemodynamic support including A-lines
- Operate and monitor CRRT and other specialty equipment as indicated
- Perform total care tasks including turning, dressing changes, and complex wound care
- Document accurately in Meditech EMR and communicate clear handoffs to the care team
- Collaborate closely with physicians, transplant teams and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain patient safety and 2:1 patient ratios while delivering compassionate bedside care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (must be able to practice in the assignment state)
- ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience (strong ICU experience required)
- Hands-on experience with ventilator management, titrating drips and BIPAP patients
- Familiarity with CRRT, A-lines, IV pumps and tracheostomy care is highly valued
- Comfortable using Meditech EMR (documentation and charting)
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Education
- Active RN licensure (Registered Nurse). Degree type not specified in posting.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and weaning principles
- Titration of vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring
- BIPAP and tracheostomy care
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) operation and monitoring
- A-line care, IV pump management and advanced ICU monitoring
- Meditech EMR documentation and electronic charting
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary ICU setting
- Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and patient advocacy
