Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and provide high-acuity nursing care for patients in trauma and surgical populations
- Manage complex patients including spinal, neuro, trauma, gunshot, and paraplegic/quadriplegic cases
- Collaborate closely with surgical and trauma teams to coordinate timely, life-saving care
- Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity and clarity of patient records
- Maintain certifications and required documentation including BLS and other specialty credentials
- Communicate compassionately with patients and families, educating them on care plans and post-op needs
- Participate in quality improvement and unit safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in the specialty (trauma/surgical/high acuity) required
- Active BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- EPIC experience required — strong EMR documentation skills a must
- Nursys license verification completed and up to date
- Candidate profile must include resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, skills checklist, references, and certification card
- Willingness to work assigned/rotating shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
- Badge-appropriate photo and completed demographic info for your profile
Knowledge & Skills
- High acuity nursing and trauma management
- Surgical nursing knowledge and post-op care
- EPIC electronic medical record proficiency
- Strong assessment and prioritization skills in emergency situations
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
- Familiarity with spinal/neuro trauma, gunshot injuries, and care for paraplegic/quadriplegic patients
