Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to identify functional strengths, limitations, and therapy needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans using therapeutic procedures and assistive devices
- Provide hands-on treatment and adaptive strategies to maximize independence
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the rehabilitation team to coordinate care
- Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge plans accurately and timely
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety, and adaptive equipment
- Follow physician orders and practice within the State Practice Act to ensure compliance
Qualifications
- Current CA Occupational Therapist License (required)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
- Ability to evaluate and implement treatment plans under physician orders
- Familiarity with assistive devices, therapeutic procedures, and patient education
- Professional, compassionate communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Occupational Therapy principles and therapeutic procedures
- Patient evaluation and treatment planning
- Use and training on assistive devices and adaptive equipment
- Understanding of the State Practice Act and regulatory compliance
- Strong documentation and clinical reasoning skills
- Collaborative interdisciplinary communication
